The Thurston Conservation District Board of Supervisors is conducting a public meeting to hear feedback and answer questions regarding its proposed ordinance to implement a system of Rates & Charges that would re-establish the public funding structure for collection in 2019-2023.
This charge would be up to $5 per parcel and $0.10/acre depending on land-use type and is collected annually via property taxes. The charge would be for those portions of Unincorporated Thurston County, the Municipalities of Olympia, Lacey, and Tumwater and those portions of the Municipalities of Tenino, Rainier, and Yelm that are within the Thurston Conservation District boundaries.
The funding covers technical assistance, landowner and youth education, and over all administration funding for Thurston CD.
Written comment on the proposed ordinance that is submitted and received by 5/18 at 4:30pm will also be considered prior to action by the Board. Written comments may be taken or mailed to the Conservation District office at 2918 Ferguson St SW, Tumwater, WA 98512 or may be submitted by email to email@example.com
